I always wanted to visit Greece! I'd been inspired by the movie Shirley Valentine - and decided at last I would have my own SV experience!! At last I arrived for a 6 week sojourn. I'm posting this blog a long time later, so will only provide a little bit of my adventure, and illustrate it from time to time through some thoughts and photos. This is the boat that took me from Athens to The Island Paros where I spent 4 weeks.

The beginnings - 2004 Greece
I always wanted to visit Greece! I'd been inspired by the movie Shirley Valentine - and decided at last I would have my own SV experience!! At last I arrived for a 6 week sojourn. I'm posting this blog a long time later, so will only provide a little bit of my adventure, and illustrate it from time to time through some thoughts and photos. This is the boat that took me from Athens to The Island Paros where I spent 4 weeks.

You asked a question about the Pumpkin cookies--here is my answer:
canned pumpkin is fairly packed but it is not really firm...In the recipe it tells you to cook on the stovetop and as it does it gets much firmer. You may have to experiment in the cooking of it. I cooked mine about 25 minutes and it also did thicken up some as it cooled in the frg (I may have let it cool a few hours--really cold---spread in a 7 by 10 pan to cool faster). It rolled into balls nicely and rolling into the nuts helps keep its form. These do have a mushy type quality--but as I said, my son and I really like them.
